Challenge
This is our own demo project, not a client order: a tribute website to Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher (a fan project, unaffiliated with his family or any team). We took a story everyone knows and used it to test the main job of any brand: telling your story so that people watch to the end instead of closing the page on the second screen.
Our solution
- The first screen shows a driver in a white balaclava and a 3D red helmet: it sits on the driver’s head and lifts off as the cursor moves. Beside it are the key career numbers: the debut at Spa, titles, wins and podiums. Next, a glowing red lap circles the Spa track, so the records section becomes an event rather than a table.
- The 1973–2012 timeline is a flow of frames passing through the screen, with checkered dissolves between sections. The Paddock and a footer with a large helmet and the line “Keep pushing forward” close the page. It all runs on WebGL and smooth animation that doesn’t stutter even on an ordinary laptop.
